Nasya
Preparation:
Choose a warm, comfortable, and quiet space where you can lie down without distractions. Nasya is ideally performed on an empty stomach, either in the morning or evening.
Select Your Oil: Use a high-quality Nasya oil such as Anu Taila, plain sesame oil, or an oil infused with warming herbs.
Warm the Oil: Gently warm a small amount of oil by placing the bottle in a cup of warm water for a few minutes. The oil should be lukewarm, not hot, for optimal absorption.
Lie Down: Lie on your back with your head tilted slightly backward, using a rolled-up towel or pillow to support your neck. This position allows the oil to reach deep into the nasal passages.
Apply the Oil: Using a dropper, place 3-5 drops of the warmed oil into each nostril. Inhale deeply, drawing the oil up into the sinuses. You can gently massage the sinuses, forehead and center line of your scalp to help distribute the oil.
Rest: Stay lying down for 5 minutes, breathing deeply and allowing the oil to penetrate. You may feel the oil move through your nasal passages, helping to clear any congestion.
